Two Eagles!

Last summer I was excited to catch a photo of one eagle. Today as I looked up into the trees I caught sight of two eagles and managed to snap a photo before one flew away. What do you think? Which is the male? Or are they not a couple?

Update: I found this excellent site if you want to learn about the Bald Eagles in North America. Seems the larger one is probably the female and these two were lucky to reach adulthood as less than 50% do.

  2. What a thrill! I see them fly near the house occasionally but have never had the opportunity to photograph them. I can't help you on identifying the sexes.

  3. I am going to guess that it is a boy and girl eagle or two young girl eagles. Helpful? LOL! That is an amazing picture either way.

  7. Heh Gina,
I love your photo ... wow you are a talented lady! I think those nature moments where we witness (sometimes capture) such splendour is truly amazing and humbling.

  8. We have heard the barred owls in our yard, but until Tuesday, we had never seen one. Barred owls are known for their very distinctive call that sounds much like "who-cooks-for-you". Welcome back Gina! (from Dale)
