Last summer I was excited to catch a photo of one eagle. Today as I looked up into the trees I caught sight of two eagles and managed to snap a photo before one flew away. What do you think? Which is the male? Or are they not a couple?
Update: I found this excellent site if you want to learn about the Bald Eagles in North America. Seems the larger one is probably the female and these two were lucky to reach adulthood as less than 50% do.
oh my gosh how cool! look at the size of the beaks on those two. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a thrill! I see them fly near the house occasionally but have never had the opportunity to photograph them. I can't help you on identifying the sexes.
ReplyDeleteI am going to guess that it is a boy and girl eagle or two young girl eagles. Helpful? LOL! That is an amazing picture either way.
ReplyDeleteWow ~ they visit our area in Spring & Fall but I've never been fortunate to have them this close. How exciting! Great photo ~ thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteStunning photograph! Lucky you, to have seen such a sight.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, how lucky for you to see them and get a shot of them, totally beautiful and regal and what a great photo. Gina!!
ReplyDeleteHeh Gina,
ReplyDeleteI love your photo ... wow you are a talented lady! I think those nature moments where we witness (sometimes capture) such splendour is truly amazing and humbling.

We have heard the barred owls in our yard, but until Tuesday, we had never seen one. Barred owls are known for their very distinctive call that sounds much like "who-cooks-for-you". Welcome back Gina! (from Dale)
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous, Gina!
ReplyDeleteWhere'd you disappear to, my friend? Hope all is well with you!
